Erasmus+ KA220 cooperation partnership in school education project "ARTisGreen" is approved!

ABOUT PROJECT:

ARTisGreen is driven by the need to integrate sustainability into education through creative and impactful methods. Climate change, environmental degradation, and resource depletion require immediate action, and education must go beyond theory to engage students in meaningful learning. ARTisGreen recognizes art (in its different forms) as a powerful tool for raising awareness, fostering critical thinking, and inspiring action. By embedding sustainability into artistic education, the project equips students and teachers with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to address environmental challenges. Many schools/educational organisations struggle to integrate sustainability into their curricula in a way that is both engaging and practical.

ARTisGreen fills this gap by transforming art education into an interactive platform for environmental awareness. It allows students to explore sustainability concepts through creative expression while developing an understanding of their role in shaping a greener future. The project’s innovative approach ensures that sustainability is not just a theoretical subject but a dynamic and integrated part of the learning process. A key motivation for the project is to support and empower educators. They play a crucial role in shaping students’ perspectives and behaviors, yet many lack access to resources, training, and confidence to incorporate sustainability into their teaching. ARTisGreen provides professional development opportunities, innovative teaching materials, and a collaborative learning network between professionals from the educational and non-governmental sectors. Through structured capacity-building efforts, educators gain practical tools to integrate sustainability into their subjects, fostering creativity and interdisciplinary connections in their classrooms. The project takes a holistic approach to sustainability in education by incorporating curriculum integration, infrastructure improvements, and ecofriendly operational practices. Partner organisations involved in ARTisGreen will develop strategies to reduce waste, conserve energy, and implement green solutions, ensuring that sustainability becomes a lived experience. These initiatives will contribute to long-term behavioral change among students, teachers, and the wider school community.

ARTisGreen is designed to have a lasting impact beyond the immediate project period. Through international collaboration, participating institutions will exchange best practices, share expertise, and develop a replicable model for sustainability education.

ARTisGreen contributes to the EU’s objectives of promoting green skills, fostering environmental responsibility, and enhancing innovation in schools.

By funding ARTisGreen, Erasmus+ will support a transformative initiative where education, creativity, and sustainability converge, ensuring that schools not only teach about environmental responsibility but actively practice and promote it within their communities.
