Youth Exchange Blog: SOLIDEU in Villalar de los Comuneros, Spain, by Villem

This was the first youth exchange I participated in, so I didn’t have a lot of expectations. But after a friend of mine introduced me to the project and after reading through all the available information I decided to go. To step out of my comfort zone and learn new things about global problems and how to solve them.

This was also how I contributed most to the project. I participated in discussions and debates about problems in this modern world. This was done by talking about the citation in my country and then listening to others and offering solutions. I learned a lot about myself and especially solidarity.

The youth exchange was definitely interesting and eye opening and I would no doubt recommend it to my friends.

The three most memorable parts were probably the intercultural nights where each participating country got to show their culture. The building of the bird boxes because I felt that I was really making an impact on the local environment. I also enjoyed teaching Spanish youngsters about solidarity through interactive games.

Finally, I think that my first youth exchange went well, and I am looking forward to the next one.
