Youth exchange blog: GreenART in Murcia, Spain by Hanna

This project was my second or third Erasmus project and my second youth exchange and just as my first one this will also have a very special place in my heart.

It was my first time in Spain, so I was quite amazed by the whole experience, and I loved Spain so much I considered moving here in the future. One thing I also loved about Spain was the prices in groceries and all the fresh fruits you could get from the stores. Also, the nature was breath-taking and seeing the orange trees on the streets was always an exotic surprise.

The people in the project were very interesting with different backgrounds and as a student graduating high school it was very useful to hear about people’s career choices, and I got a lot of ideas for myself too.

The festival part of the project was very inspiring. The whole event was such an amazing idea, and I have not heard of this kind of sustainability project before. We got to learn more about their goals and the whole process, and the most amazing part was being able to help bring the festival to life. I was expecting there to be more involvement in helping prepare the festival, but I am still really satisfied with the project.

The main activities we did were focused on Erasmus and cultural topics. We had cultural nights and did video assignments to understand Erasmus projects goals.

The accommodation was in a hotel and the food was amazing there. During mealtimes we bonded with the group the most because during the day we were in our separate rooms, and it was difficult to meet sometimes.

Of course, we also got to experience the nightlife of Murcia too. During daytime we had quite a lot to do so in the evenings we met up and discovered all the city had to give to us during the night and I think these nights might have been the most memorable nights of the project. These people and the project had an important impact on me, and I can say I took a lot with me during this experience.
